MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has decreed the commendation of 16 Belarusians representing various fields of activity, including athletes, coaches, employees of the National State TV and Radio Company, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.
Those commended by the President include senior coach of the national freestyle team of Belarus Vasily Vorobyev, chief of the team and senior coach of the national freestyle team Anatoly Pastukhov, senior coach of the national biathlon team Alexander Ustinov.  |

President Lukashenko does not rule out privatizing of farm lands

ZHITKOVICHI District, 31 August (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko does not rule out a possibility of privatization of agricultural lands. The President made this statement as he visited the farm of Mikhail Shrub in Zhitkovichi District, BelTA has learnt.
“If we decide to give land into private ownership, we will start from this farmer,” Alexander Lukashenko said referring to Mikhail Shrub.  |

Gomel to host economic conference 10 September

GOMEL, 20 August (BelTA) – The First Gomel Economic Conference will be held on 10 September, BelTA learned from the ideology department of the Gomel City Council.
The main goal of the conference is to develop partnership and increase foreign investments in the economy of the city.
More than 20 official delegations from the Gomel twin-towns from neighboring and other countries, businessmen who implement investment projects in Gomel, potential investors have been invited to take part in the conference.  |

Gomel exhibition to display traditions and culture of Japan

GOMEL, 11 August (BelTA) – The exhibition Traditions and Culture of Japan will open at Grigory Vashchenko’s Picture Gallery in Gomel on 11 August, BelTA learnt from gallery funds chief curator Oleg Kurashov.
Exhibits have been provided by the Embassy of Japan in Belarus. The collection will feature the major traditions and everyday life of the Japanese. In particular, the visitors will be able to get familiar with tea ceremony sets, Japanese traditional cuisine.  |

Zhlobin’s humanitarian aid reaches Russian twinned town of Vyksa

MOSCOW, 11 August (BelTA) – The humanitarian aid sent by the Belarusian town of Zhlobin to residents of Vyksa District, Nizhniy Novgorod Oblast, who have suffered due to fires, has reached its destination, the press service of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia told BelTA.
Over eight tonnes of humanitarian cargoes include food (tinned meat, condensed milk, bread and pastry, tinned juices, pickles and other foods), clothes for children and adults, sleeping gear and furniture.  |
