  • The Zhlobin region is situated in the northeast of Gomel oblast. It borders on the Rogachev, Buda-Kosheliovo, Rechitsa and Svetlogorsk regions /Gomel oblast/ and the Bobruisk region /Mogilev oblast/.

    The total area of the region is 2,100 square kilometers including the town of Zhlobin Ц 28 square kilometers.

    There are 17 councils in the region including 16 Ц rural /in Verkhnia Alba, Dobrogoscha, Kabanovka, Kirovo, Korotkovichi, Krasnyi Bereg, Luki, Maiskoye, Malevichi, Novye Markovichi, Oktiabr, Paporotnoye, Pirevichi, Solonoye, Staraya Rudnia, Schedrin/ and one settlement council /in Streshin/.

    There are 156 settlements.

    The relief of the region is a plain lowering from north to south. The region is mainly situated on the territory of Gomel Polesie, and its northwest part Ч within the boundaries of the Central-Berezino plain. The Pridnepr valley goes along the Dnepr. The region stretches for 65 kilometers from west to east and 48 kilometers from north to south.

    The regionТs landmarks embrace the naturally formed Krasnyi Bereg park and hydrological reserve Vydritsa.
